13 Beware is a webcomic in the works about a teenager burdened with a family curse named Hayven Skelt who summons a demon named Myrith to help with their curse. Hayven is helped by their two best friends Scurfpea and Pterry, meanwhile Myrith is being tracked by a demon hunter named Charlie.

Hayven Skelt is 14 years old and, like every member of the Skelt famkly, bears the Skelt Curse, giving them supernaturally bad luck. They spend time juggling being in the ninth grade, practicing the flute, and researching how to cure their ancestral curse. Finally, they've found the perfect solution: Summoning a demon.

Pterry Hail is a straight A student and is naturally talented at seemingly everything she tries, But behind this veil of relaxed intelligence lies a deep anxiety and a longing for creative writing — one of the few things she's bad at.

Scurfpea Morg is the third member of Hayven and Pterry's friend group. She's never seen without a hat on, her favorite being a pointy witch hat. She claims to be proficiant in potion making, but really she just makes a mean soup, something she learned from her mother.

I started working on 13 Beware (originally called Jackal) in middle school, directly after reading Johnny the Homicidal Maniac by Jhonen Vasquez for the first time. I was struck by the overwhelming desire to write a comic and so I scrapped all my former story ideas and characters and started from scratch, beginning with a human teenager based on myself, with the same age, gender, and hobbies. I took inspiration from Welcome to Night Vale to create Crowdale, the town the story takes place in, and gods of this world were inspired by the fear powers from The Magnus Archives. It's changed a lot since then. The world around this story has evolved and I've since thought of several other stories taking place in the same world, some with overlapping characters or settings, and I gave up on making my main character human, eventually turning Hayven into an anthropomorphic Virginia opossum instead.

13 Beware has many page ones, the first one being from november of 2019, around a month after I first thought of the idea. Since then, I've started over four times, with the latest time being the furthest I've gotten. Unfortunately, the scripts for the first four chapters were all lost when Google Documents had what I believe to be a syncing error that made them invisible to me, so production has slowed down. Despite this setback, I want to finish 13 Beware, not matter how long it takes. I've promised myself I won't start over again, these are the first pages whether I grow to hate them or not.

If you're wondering why 13 Beware can only be found on a neocities site currently it's because I don't want to start posting it anywhere else without a much larger backlog. In order for me to start posting chapter 1 on Tumblr and Comicfury, chapter 1 will need to be finished in its entirety and chapter 2 needs to be at least written and thumbnailed. I have a procrastination problem so things can take a very long time for me to finish, even when it's something I genuinely want to do. I've already taken a two year break from working on this version of 13 Beware before, I don't want that kind of thing to interrupt a chapter as it's being posted.

Myrith is Hayven's demon. Inexperienced and in a world she's only ever heard of, Myrith can only try her best at fulfilling the terms of her deal with Hayven. But her past in the demon realm of Infallis haunts her, and she wonders if the future laid out before her is really one she must accept.

Charlie Arktos hunts demons. Raised by her father to hunt the monsters that prey on mortal souls, Charlie is passing through Crowdale when she gets a strange feeling about a certain unlucky teenager. Smelling a possible hunt in this little town, she decides to stay.
