Worm Study
8/7/26
A study of my cat Worm. I've been wanting to get better at environments and was going to do photo studies but I'm actually not very good at doing colored photo studies (they make me actively angry to work on— not a good thing!) so I thought I'd start out with something I'm more comfortable with. My mother actually took the reference photo for this one. I'm not huge on the way his right eye turned out but all I can do is try to be better about that next time.
You Shall Seal The Blinding Light That Plagues Their Dreams
7/31/26
Fanart of the Hollow Knight and the Broken Vessel from Hollow Knight. My theory for how the Broken Vessel ended up the way it did is that it remembered the Pale King's speech in the Abyss and tried to fufill its purpose even though it wasn't chosen as the Pure Vessel. These two are an interesting parallel to me.
I also have some process pictures up on Tumblr. For the sketch I referenced the in game sprites of the two. I decided to just color in the sketch for this instead of taking the time to cleanly line it, not for any particular reason, I simply didn't feel like it. My rendering process is generally to copy everything I have drawn and then paste it as one layer and draw on top of that so I don't have to mess around with layers. I focused on keeping my rendering messy in this piece because I've been feeling dissatisfied with my cleaner work. I think it worked out well. If you looked at the process pictures you might notice that the chains are in different positions; this is because when I was rendering the Hollow Knight's armor and cloak I ended up coloring right over the chains and did them on a different layer because I wasn't feeling very confident in my ability to shade them good. I think they turned out alright.
AND YOU'LL ALWAYS KNOW THAT YOUR FATHER'S A THIEF
10/31/24
Happy Halloween! A piece of Velgar and his father Plagafrea. I figure I should talk about my process or something? Considering this rendering style looks a bit different compared to everything else on this page so far. Generally, I like drawing with Anti-aliasing ticked off (no particular reason, I just like it) but for this one I drew everything with a much softer brush. For digital paintings like this, I line and color everything as if a lined style is what I'm going for and then combine those layers and draw directly over it. I like keeping everything on one layer because it makes it easier to edit things without having to dig through all my unlabeled layers.
Valrik!
10/28/24
I finally finished this! The sketch was just supposed to be a doodle but I loved it so much I just had to finish it. Valrik is one of my favorite characters to draw and write, I'm so enamored by this weird little furry clown of my own making.
Buddies

Valrik and Lavandael. I got impatient with how long another piece with Valrik is taking and wanted to make something of him to post so I scribbled this out in like 15 minutes.

I'm never happy with Mayvally's design but hopefully this one will stick around for a while!
Myrith's Guilt
10/22/24
This is set between the time when Myrith applied for a demon job and when she told Aglithael that she was leaving. Myrith feels a lot of guilt about leaving Aglithael at home. It's not Myrith's fault Aggie is so lonely, if anything it's Aggie's own fault for not socializing outside her own family, but it's hard sometimes to not blame yourself for your family's problems. This specific family is one of my favorite subjects to depict because there's just so much going on; Lavandael is stuck in the past while Aglithael refuses to acknowledge it and refuses to make any connections outside her family for fear of losing another person, Cathartael desperately WANTS to keep his family together but doesn't know how anymore, Bune felt stifled by all of his sibilngs and so left as soon as he could without looking back, Myrith felt presssured to follow him, Lycis feels like an afterthought, Lavandael II feels pressured to be just like her mother despite not actually knowing anything about her and Sheriving feels like an outsider in their own family. So all of them have something going on. Can you tell I love family drama. I have a lot of fun thinking about how their attitudes affect their dynamics and how even if they all care about each other, that doesn't mean they always treat each other well.
Me When I'm WEBFISHING
10/22/24
Yesterday I bought the game WEBFISHING and then played it all day. This is my avatar. My display name is Rotty on there. Perhaps you'll run into me and then we can fish together.
Lavandael and Aglithael Dolls
10/16/24
I love drawing stuffed animals like this! It's so fun and always turns out pretty cute. One day I want to have an illustration of every single one of my characters in this style.
Willow Sketches
10/8/24
A sketch page of some Willow Expressions. Because she has no eyes, there are certain expressions I have more trouble portraying on her than other characters. I rely on eyelids fairly often to illustrate emotions, so she presents a challenge. I have a lot of fun drawing her though! But I did add a little Sheriving clarifying that Willow is in fact yawning in one sketch. Lately I've been basing her appearance on a wolf, just if it had no fur and much larger ears. And a few more legs.

Cornix Doodle

I was on a bird roll and felt a bit bad about not drawing Cornix very often. So I drew him.
